Performance discussions are meant to be interactive and constructive. Supervisors are responsible for evaluating performance, highlighting strengths and accomplishments, and identifying development needs to ensure future growth and success. Employees are encouraged to reflect and appraise their own performance, and discuss ideas on how to address development needs and leverage their strengths for career development and advancement. Progressive Coaching Venable is committed to employee development and providing the tools, training and environment necessary for an employee’s success. When performance challenges or employee misconduct occurs, Venable believes in a progressive coaching process in order to improve performance and modify behavior. The steps in this process may involve verbal coaching and counseling, written warnings, performance improvement plans, and/or employee suspensions. The approach may vary depending on the gravity of the offense, overall circumstances, past conduct, employee record and other relevant factors. Venable reserves the right to utilize this process at its discretion or, as an “at-will” employer, terminate employment at any time, with or without cause, and without notice.
