Sick Leave While Venable hopes that all of its employees stay healthy, it recognizes that everyone occasionally becomes ill. In recognition of this fact, Venable has developed a Sick Leave Program which provides continued income to employees who are unable to work because of illness or injury. Full-time employees in all locations except California earn 8* days each calendar year, which accrue at the rate of .667 days per full month of employment. Part-time employees and Firm temporary employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Employees in the DC office who are salaried and exempt from overtime laws accrue paid sick leave based on a 40 hour workweek. California Employees in the California locations accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Employees in the California offices who are salaried and exempt from overtime laws accrue paid sick leave based on a 40-hour workweek. * Sick leave will be prorated during the first year of employment based on hire date.
